Help People restores first house in flooded area in Kherson region

On the night of June 6, Russian troops blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station in Kherson Oblast. As a result, about 16,000 people were displaced in the disaster area and about 80 settlements were flooded.

The Help People organization immediately responded to this tragedy. Humanitarian aid from all over Ukraine, round-the-clock evacuation and, most importantly, the incredible solidarity of Ukrainians helped people survive these difficult times.

After the water receded, Help People decided to take on the task of restoring some of the destroyed buildings.

The first house to get a new life

This is the first house to be rebuilt thanks to the efforts of Help People.

More than 365 thousand UAH were spent on this project. These funds were used to screed the roof, dismantle and install drywall, and work on the roof. All the funds are donations from people who care, and we are grateful for that.

“We are glad that we can help people affected by Russian aggression. Restoring these houses is our small contribution to their lives. “Help People” continues to work. We are evacuating people from the hot spots of Ukraine, working to overcome the humanitarian crisis and have many other social projects. That is why we constantly appeal to all caring people to support us. Together we will do more!” – said Oleksiy Voronin, founder of the Help People organization.
